'Columbus', pencil signature, dated 1993, no. e.a., image dimensions approx. 26.5 x 19.5 cm, provenance: private collection, Regensburg, cf. literature: Jiri Anderle: Graduated in 1961 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague with a degree in painting under Antonin Pelc and Vladimir Silovsky. Anderle's works have been exhibited in nearly 100 solo exhibitions and his work is represented in approximately 40 galleries and museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Jiri Sliva: He studied at the Economic University and, after graduating in 1971, worked in the Forecasting Department at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. His first drawing was published in 1972 in the weekend supplement of the magazine 'Mladá fronta'. He has worked as a freelance artist since 1979.
